About
Tamara was born in London and at an early age moved to Warsaw, Poland for the most part of her school life. Her love for movement has filtered though from an early age, from being a competitive swimmer throughout her teenage years, to gymnastics, dance and most other sports on a daily basis. On moving back to London 10 years ago for her Art, Media & Design/BSc Music Production Degree, she discovered and became immersed in the practice of yoga, finding a love for the synchronicity between movement and breath. This led into a journey of movement exploration, allowing her to explore the relationship between music and movement through her dissertation, Embodied Music Cognition, Bodily Response, and Music and People in her undergraduate degree.
On finishing university, she went on to do her Yoga Teacher Training, where she has been able to explore movement teaching in a variety of ways. Through teaching for the past 6 years, she has been developing her own practice and methodology, where she has discovered both fundamental and expressive ways in moving the body.
By working with both individuals and small to large groups, in a variety of settings, she has been able to work both anatomically - focusing on alignment and understanding the individual’s needs, and mechanisms of strength and ability.
Her teaching and movement facilitation aims to build and enable people to explore and connect back into their bodies, and the ability to feel through movement. Her movement practice celebrates freedom of movement, exploration and expression into and of oneself. Through her work she creates a space for people to move with intention, body awareness and find their strength through their breath.
Recently graduating with a Master’s Degree in Movement Directing and Teaching at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, she expanding her knowledge and experience in movement within performance, art, digital and theatre practice.
